I love this. I think humility is one of the most misunderstood qualities. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less. The way to think of yourself less in a way that is authentic to to feel genuinely good about yourself deep down. When you know that “I’m ok” — you free up much of your emotional and cognitive energy to focus on others — how you can serve them and add value to their lives — regardless of your own image. It means letting go of perfectionism and accepting all those beautiful flaws you have — because you will always have them. That’s one of the most liberating things we can do. I focus a lot on self-acceptance (for myself and others) because — well for one, I think it is the key to making everything in your life easier — but secondarily — it creates that humility that is so admirable. Humility isn’t putting yourself down or diminishing yourself — I agree with you completely, Ben. Don’t make yourself small — that’s not humble. Be you — wonderfully and perfectly flawed you.
