I really love this concept of even 1 push up a day or read just one page before going to bed at night. Most of the time if I get myself to do just the one, then I do more. And I’m so pleased when I do! I have definitely struggled to keep my routines as I’ve been traveling. It has required a lot of adaptation, but more than that, there is an element of short-term willpower in order to facilitate new habit formation. For me — my sitting practice with coffee turned into a sitting practice with Green Tea in Malaysia. In Portugal my daily running work out turned more often into stairs because of the crazy amounts of hills in the city. I became a hard core minimalist when I began traveling, so I started to rely on my kindle and just decided to “get over it” when I thought to myself “It doesn’t feel the same.” I even bought a replacement Kindle when mine broke after an unfortunate seat moving debacle during a roadtrip through Croatia. Progress over perfection is one of my core values, and this hits on that nicely. Just do a little and you’ll find you want to do more.
